Introduction
“The Landing Page Copy Generator” is a tool I created to help people write effective copy for their website’s landing page or home page. I came up with the idea while working on another project called “Social Bites” during a “Build-in-Public” hackathon on Twitter. I realized that creating landing page copy can be a time-consuming and repetitive task, and I wanted to find a way to streamline the process.
So, I put together this Coda document that provides a structured framework for writing landing page copy, along with chat-GPT prompts that can generate copy for you instantly. The idea is to provide a quick and easy solution for creating landing page copy that is both professional and effective. Whether you’re starting from scratch or revamping your existing landing page, this generator is a great resource to have on hand.
The Problem, The Who, & The Why
The problem we aimed to solve was the tedious task of writing landing page copy. As designers, developers, and marketers, having a well-written landing page is crucial in clearly communicating the value of our products or services. However, if you’re anything like me, coming up with the right words can be a challenge.
To address this issue, I created “The Landing Page Copy Generator”. My solution is designed for designers, developers, and marketers seeking an easy and quick way to write professional landing page copy. The generator includes a structured framework and chat-GPT prompts to streamline the copywriting process, saving time and allowing users to focus on other important aspects of their project. I believe that this tool can help increase productivity and efficiency by streamlining the process of writing landing page copy.
My Process
The process of building “The Landing Page Copy Generator” started with a need to streamline the task of writing landing page copy. I jumped into Coda and began building a template that was based on a writing framework. This helped me to know exactly what copy was needed and to fill in the appropriate sections.
As I worked on the template, I realized that it would be a useful resource not only for my own workflow but for countless others as well. So, I decided to release it publicly. To further enhance the generator, I added a chat-GPT prompt section that would generate copy seamlessly based on the user’s input, while still following the template. It took some effort to craft the perfect prompt, but the result was worth it.
Next, I integrated the chat-GPT prompt into the document with the use of two buttons. One copied the long-form prompt, while the other took the user to Chat-GPT’s website in a new tab. I was pleased with the result and shared the document for free on the Coda marketplace. It received positive feedback and was even featured in Coda’s newsletter “The Docket” and at the top of their gallery page slider. I look forward to improving the document in the future and hope that users continue to find value in this resource.
